Topic:  The years between 1970 and 1983 were a period of suffering and sacrifice for Gençlerbirliği, an important part of national football and Ankara's urban culture. At a time when football was becoming more professionalized and there was more money in the market, Gençlerbirliği would be "rewarded" for its identity as a civilian and independent team with a lack of ownership. A world where the club is on the verge of the amateur cluster and even closure, where there are football players who condemn money, managers who collect money for the club with receipts, and fans who take the team to away games in their own cars, a world that seems unreal when you look at it now. Real heroes worthy of Ahmed Arif's Ankara resist being forgotten on the dusty shelves of history.
